Finland has been an independent republic since December 6th, 1917. It’s the easternmost Nordic country and has a population of approximately 5.4 million.

Finland joined the United Nations in 1955, the OECD in 1969 and the European Union in 1995. It has been part of the eurozone since its inception. Finland is also a Schengen Agreement country.

Finland spends heavily on education, training and research – investment which pays dividends by delivering one of the best-qualified workforces in the world.
