On the 24 May 2018 Finland and Hong Kong signed the Comprehensive Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement (the “CDTA“) and it came into force on the December 30, 2018. The CDTA sets out the allocation of taxing rights between Finland and Hong Kong. In addition, the CDTA helps investors better assess their potential tax liabilities from cross-border economic activities.
Therefore, now is the time to have discussion about the impacts and possibilities of the CDTA. Ville Antikainen, Head of Global Tax in HMD Global, will give us insight information concerning the CDTA and its meaning for Finnish businesses and individuals in Hong Kong. Furthermore, Finland is Hong Kong’s 50th largest trading partner.
