Event Description
We individuals have a lot of personal data. It’s in our personal devices, our wearables, our phones, and the services we use. Yet this data is spread out and isolated in various silos.
Enterprises faced a similar situation a few decades ago, when they realized they had a gold mine of data in their systems. Over time, various solutions - such as data lakes - and methodologies for handling scattered enterprise data have emerged.
We are at a similar point in time with personal data; every day we, individuals, learn more about the vast personal data we have access to, but we still lack even basic tools to make use of such data. In the near future, new types of applications that activate personal data are likely to emerge.
In this discussion we focus on the types of personal applications we have, the types of data we are generating, and how we can tie it together into intelligent applications that we can use in our homes and for our personal health and wellbeing. Having more data on our side can lead to more agency around our decision making and can foster the creation of new applications that are based on your own personal data, rather than “someone like you”.
We are privileged to have the following distinguished group of panelists:
Kathy Giori, IoT guru, ex-Mozilla
Vik Kashyap, COE of ToiLabs
Martynas Bieliunas, Managing Partner, Privacy Partners
Markus Lampinen, CEO of Prifina
Organizer: Finnish - Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce
