FinnCham internship Hong Kong: September 2021 updates

This month was so busy and loaded for FinnCham HK. We had a lot of social and other types of events.

On the 4th of September, we had a Nordic Junk organized together with the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish chambers. We had 47 particpants and everyone had a fun-filled day at sea, mingling and connecting with each other.

Together with the sustainibility committee, we organized a beach cleanup day in honor of world cleanup day on the 18th, a total of 15 people participated in the event.

Then we had the Friday pub night, where some members of the chamber and some non-members joined for relaxed casual afterwork drinks. The chamber organize these pub nights every last Friday of each month.

The annual crayfish party was the event of the month, we spend a lot of time preparing for it. We organized it at Hong Kong’s only Nordic restaurant FINDS and we had 60 guests in total. The lucky draw prizes were sponsored by our members and you can check also some photos from the event here.

We additionally organized together with Finland-Hong Kong Business Association, a webinar on the topic of hospitality industry in Hong Kong after COVID-19. We had the most Famous Finnish Chef in Hong Kong Mr. Jaakko Sorsa as one of our speakers, along with our corporate member Mr.Sami Verho from Bacon and the bun and Mr. Boris Cheung, sales and marketing expert representing a wide range of Finnish brands, such as Bonne and Goodio, in Hong Kong through his company Great (HK) Investment.

We held the first in person board meeting after Covid-19, and I had the chance to meet all board members and the chairman. The meeting was mainly covering the discussion on upcoming projects and future events and the current updates of all committes. We were hosted by Kone, and we had the chance to have a tour in the office and observe Kone’s innovative workplace.

FinnCham HK also participated in the 2021 edition of the Joint Chamber Summer Cocktail Party, one of the most popular joint chamber functions of the year. This social event attracted 180 business professionals from 10 different chambers.
