October was time for some exciting news at FDCC: we welcomed a new corporate member DolkHesper and had our first live event since Covid. And more is yet to come: check out this newsletter and save the dates of our upcoming events.

Sibelius Festival
In 2019 the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra organized two times a Sibelius Festival, one weekend in May and one at the end of that year. During these two festivals all the symphonies from Sibelius were performed. Now it is finally time for the third weekend. On 12th November the Rotterdam Philharmonic will perform 'Kullervo' and on 14th November 'Lemminkäinen'. Both concerts will take place in De Doelen in Rotterdam.

UN Procurement
On 17th of November at 16:00 hrs we are organizing an event about UN Procurement in the Embassy of Finland in the Hague. The speaker Kimmo Laukkanen is a Finnish Diplomat with more than 20 years of experience in multilateral issues, trade & development and Africa. Currently based at Finnish Permanent Mission in Geneva Switzerland, dealing with peace & security and UN disarmament affairs.
How to do business with United Nations organizations? UN, especially through its humanitarian and sustainable development procurement, poses a huge business potential to private companies. But the question is how to engage: how to find suitable entry points, and how to find the best possible modus operandi to do business with UN?
Doing business with UN is never easy, so the first question is if my company is suitable partner to UN and what can I offer? What are the requirements for the companies to be partner with UN? On the other hand, what kind of opportunities UN organizations can offer companies? Where can embassies help the companies to engage - where can the Finnish diplomatic mission make the difference in facilitating emerging business opportunities with UN?

The Netherlands and Finland – a perfect business match
The Finnish Dutch Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Finland, the Embassy of Finland in The Hague, Enterprise Europe Network, the Finland Chamber of Commerce in Finland, and the Helsinki Chamber of Commerce are jointly organizing a live event to promote doing business with The Netherlands on Tuesday the 23rd of November 2021.
The event will be hosted by our Patron member Neste in their headquarter in Espoo, Finland (address: Keilaranta 21). The event starts at 14.00 hours and ends at 17.00 hours.
