2021 in review

How was your year 2021? Or let’s go even broader: how was your year 2020? These types of questions are normally asked in early January, but I am inviting you to look in the rear-view mirror with me here just before the year ends. On 1st of April 2020, I officially started as Executive Manager at the Chamber of Commerce Finland-Switzerland. Europe was in the middle of a lockdown and the burning question was “How long will this pandemic last?”. It became increasingly clear that our era will be defined by a new zero-year: the period before COVID-19 and the new normal that will emerge in new era. We are witnessing a dramatic restructuring of the economic and social order in which business and society have traditionally operated.
